The beauty of this GPS unit is it’s sleek design, being only 9 mm thick, just as thick as a #2 pencil. When you’re caring it, you can easily slip it in the shirt pocket or purse to and from the car. Or if you wish to hold it in your hand while you are on the street using the pedestrian navigation capabilities.
When you look at the 4.3 inch display, you will notice the awesome graphics. While using it, you will be seeing the building and terrain in 3D. I thought that was pretty nice.
With this display it can be used in sunlight. No more using the GPS only with the top down. Now you can use it in a convertible without a hand over it trying to see it. It’s a nice feeling.

I thought the voice activation was a great idea. You can speak commands directly to the unit to find addresses while having your hands on the steering wheel and eyes on the road.

You have an option to use it as a phone, as long as you have your cell phone with. Just use the Garmin nuvi Blue-tooth and your phone to make hands free calls and if you want dial directly on the devices keypad to make a call.
To use it horizontally or vertically. That is the question. It’s great to have that option to set up with. To place it in the corner of the driver or in the center horizontally or vertically to save some place is a perfect idea.

With free traffic alerts it’s a wonderful feeling to be ahead of the other driver. The usage for this is out of this world because it can be used not only for short distances but of course for long trips. It’s always a good idea to use the Garmin nuvi updates to check the traffic alerts. The worst thing you want is to be stuck in traffic for extra hours on a road trip.
There is an environment and fuel economy software built in this. The unit will give you feedback on whether you are doing to much bursts of acceleration and or stopping and starting. It’s a nice little feature that can actually teach you on how to drive better and save on fuel.
With all the great features, it’s no doubt that this is a great bargain for the Garmin nuvi 3790t having the best price.
You know what I still need to do? I still need to go on a road trip. Not a long one, but long enough to test out all the functions the right way. What I will do is plot a course that I never took before and see how it takes me using of course the lane change feature.
Then I will plot a course that I have taken before and test the same features and just compare if there are any mistakes that the device
does.
